An armed robber made off with thousands of pounds in cash after bursting into a Sittingbourne supermarket this morning.
The gun-toting man, thought to be in his 40s, demanded cash from workers at the ASDA store at 10.40am before driving away from the scene.
He is said to be white, with a black moustache and beard.
He was wearing dark trousers, a grey shirt, a blue sleeveless fleece and a motorcycle helmet with a white stripe.
Detective Chief Inspector Nick Gossett said: “We are appealing for any witnesses to the robbery and also anyone who was in the area of Kingsmill Close shortly after the incident, as we believe he drove to there and left the car used in the attack.
“We strongly advise the public not to approach the man as we believe he may still be armed but to contact the police in the first instance on 01622 690055 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
