Lucky escape after pub roof blaze
Printable version Email to a friend Share this story Add your comment Contact us
A pub on the Isle of Sheppey had a lucky escape when a stray spark from a blow torch set fire to its roof.

Firefighters were called to the Wheat Sheaf Inn on Warden Road on March 6 at 11.04am.

One square metre of the roof of the property was destroyed by the blaze, which started as a welder worked on repairs.

Crews from Sheppey and Eastchurch attended the scene where they used thermal imaging equipment to eliminate any remaining hotspots.
