Faversham woman has slippery escape from fire

A microwave blew up after a Faversham woman mistakenly heated up her slippers for 3 hours rather than 3 minutes.

Firefighters were called to the flat in Grange Mews on March 6 at 11.37pm to tackle a fire caused by the explosion.

Fortunately for the woman, two crews from Faversham were on the scene within minutes and damage was isolated to the microwave. She was advised to buy new slippers.
